About StitchJam

StitchJam turns a photo, a drawing or a few words into a pattern you can make by hand: cross stitch with DMC floss, perler and other fuse beads, corner-to-corner and tapestry crochet, knitting colorwork and diamond painting. Everything runs in your browser, on a computer or a phone, and the full printable PDF is free.

What makes it different

Many pattern makers lose the small things that make a picture recognizable: a blue sky turns purple, a thin dark outline disappears, a tiny red flower takes the color of the grass. StitchJam's color matching keeps small but distinct areas in their own colors and cleans up stray single stitches, and it tells you how many single stitches remain. Each craft gets its own geometry: 29 by 29 bead boards printed true to size, written row counts for C2C, real stitch proportions for knitting.

Your things stay yours

Photos are processed on your device and never uploaded. Patterns you make are saved in this browser under My patterns, and you can keep a backup file. There are no accounts, no comments and no public gallery.

Free patterns

The free patterns are original designs made for StitchJam, or public-domain designs with their source named. We do not publish patterns of characters, logos or other people's artwork.
