- Pick a patternBrowse by craft or theme. Each card shows the size in stitches, beads or squares and the number of colors it uses.
- Download it or reshape itSave the printable PDF, which your browser builds on the spot, or send the design to the editor to rework it before you print.
- Make it, or change the colorsStitch, fuse or crochet it as charted, or swap colors and sizes to suit your materials and download your version.
Four crafts, one library
The library covers the crafts StitchJam's tools make patterns for. Cross stitch is the largest part, with sixty-six charts across flowers, animals, Christmas, Halloween, small and easy designs and bookmarks, plus four complete alphabets with numbers. Perler and fuse beads have thirty designs, half of them animals, each sized for a single 29 by 29 pegboard. C2C crocheters get ten graphs from 30 to 44 squares, with a written color count for every row.
Every design is an original drawing made for this site. You will not find characters, logos or redrawn copies of other people's patterns here. Download them with no account, no email and no watermark. Anything you stitch, fuse or crochet from them by hand is yours to keep, give away or sell; only the pattern files themselves stay ours, so please do not sell or share them.
Choosing by craft and size
Cross stitch charts here are mostly 17 to 41 stitches wide, which on 14-count aida is roughly 1.2 to 3 inches, the size of an ornament or a hoop for a shelf. Bookmarks are the long exception, up to 101 stitches tall. Bead designs all fit one board, about 14.5 cm across with standard beads, so each is a coaster, magnet or keychain in a single evening. C2C graphs are pillow fronts and blanket panels, and the final size depends on your yarn and hook.
Color counts are on every card. Three to five colors means a quick, relaxed project; ten or more means more thread or bead changes and a richer picture.
Seasonal picks for October and beyond
Halloween is close, and there are ten small spooky cross stitch charts on the Halloween cross stitch patterns page, plus a ghost and a jack-o'-lantern in beads and a pumpkin C2C graph. Most finish in a weekend or two.
Christmas is the bigger season, and October is when many makers start. Twelve holiday charts are on the Christmas cross stitch patterns page, and the bead section and the C2C graphs each include a Christmas tree. Start now and a set of ornaments or a holiday pillow can be ready well before December. If this is your first season of stitching, warm up on the small and easy designs.
What the free download includes
Downloads are built in your browser from the pattern itself, so nothing is uploaded and the PDF is ready in seconds. A cross stitch PDF opens with the chart in color, follows it with the same chart in black-and-white symbols, and closes with a DMC key that lists stitch counts. Bead PDFs print at true size so you can lay the page under a clear pegboard, with a bead count for each color. C2C PDFs include the graph and written row-by-row color counts.
On-screen colors are approximate. If an exact shade matters, check a physical floss card, bead sample or yarn ball before you buy.
Change any pattern in the editor
Each card can open in the editor. There you can replace colors with other DMC floss or another bead brand, add a few stitches, enlarge the canvas for a border, or add lettering. Where a design suits more than one craft, a switch opens it as beads or as a C2C graph instead.
Edited patterns can be saved to My patterns in your browser and downloaded as a PDF like the originals.
Nothing about the original changes when you edit, so you can always go back to the library card and start again from the design as drawn. That makes it easy to try two color schemes side by side before you buy floss, beads or yarn.
When you want something of your own
The library is a starting point. To make a pattern from a photo of your pet or your garden, use the cross stitch pattern maker; for beads, the perler bead pattern maker; for crochet, the C2C graph maker. Your pictures stay on your device the whole time.
Questions
Are all patterns on StitchJam free?
Yes. Every pattern in the library can be downloaded as a full PDF and opened in the editor for free, with no sign-up and no watermark. They are original StitchJam designs. You may sell or give away the pieces you make from them by hand, but please do not resell or redistribute the pattern files themselves.
Can I download free patterns as a PDF?
Yes. Choose a card and select the PDF download. The file is created in your browser and saved to your device. Cross stitch PDFs carry color chart pages and then black-and-white ones, bead PDFs print at true size, and C2C PDFs include written row counts. Large charts are split across pages with a little overlap, so they line up when you tape them together.
Do I need an account to use the patterns?
No. There is no account and no login. Patterns you change in the editor are saved in your browser on your own device, and you can make a backup file of them if you want to move them to another computer.
Which pattern should I start with if I am a beginner?
For cross stitch, pick something from the small and easy theme, such as a heart with three colors. For beads, choose a three-color design like the heart or the ladybug. For C2C, start with a three-color graph such as the heart or the paw print.
Are there character patterns from films or games?
No. The library contains only original designs, so there are no characters, logos or mascots. Many people make patterns of favorite characters for personal use with the pattern makers, but we do not host them. If you want a favorite subject, draw it yourself or use a photo you took.
Can I print the patterns on a home printer?
Yes. All PDFs are made for ordinary home printers. Print at 100 percent, not fit to page, especially for bead pages that must match the pegboard. To save color ink, print only the black-and-white pages that follow the color chart in each cross stitch PDF. Check the 50 mm bar on bead pages with a ruler before you start.
Every pattern here is an original StitchJam design or a public-domain source named on the pattern. Colors are DMC or bead brand numbers; on-screen colors are approximate. Free for personal use and gifts.
